Before the internet….

April 28, 2008

Before the internet we

…paid higher prices in our retailshops

…had to get our porn from a ‘friend of a friend with two vcrs’

…buy autotrader every week to find a car

…spend a lot of time on the phone

…rely on the Post Office like it was our life line to the world

…dial up on a coupling to JANET or a Bulletin board to chat online

…record a lot of stuff onto cassettes

…read books, go out more, watch more TV, listen to the radio.

The sun is low

March 3, 2008

The sun is low.

Blinding my eyes.

But it’s heat comforts.  Like a warm hand on my forehead.

Rarely it is.  Touch much it kills.  Too little it kills.

The sun is low.  The day is done.

John Candy

October 26, 2007

The late John Candy was an excellent performance actor who really made my laugh and smile.

It’s no surprise he was a Canadian and not an obnoxious american.  Rumoured to be one of the genuine people in Hollywood, I couldn’t imagine John Candy doing any harm to anyone.

I loved Plane Trains And Automobiles and of course, Uncle Buck.  We miss you John.

The stars looks fantastic….

July 16, 2007

I just noticed the stars last night, they looked amazing.  Orion seems to have moved to the west side of my house.

I’ve often toyed with the idea of getting a telescope but it’s typically cloudy where I am and the neighbours would get all nosey lol.

Steve Jobs speech

July 2, 2007

The greatest speech ever…?  I’m with you Steve, I too dropped out Uni, hung around and then discovered a far better life.

Milky Ways

June 7, 2007

If only life was sooo much easier…….just like a Milky Way……light and fluffy on the inside, tasty on the outside.  Doesn’t spoil your appetite!

This blog isn’t about sweets but the past things remembered that make fond memories of years past – Milky Way chocolate was just one of them.
